Paul and Kerry McDonald would like to welcome their new son Christopher Casey to the clan! Weighing 4.2 kilograms, Chris was born on January 2nd at 3:30pm. He will join sister Rachel, 6 and brother Malcolm, 4 in the McDonald household in Vancouver, Canada. Christopher's proud aunts Kathy McDonald and Sherry Smith were present at his birth. Grandparents, Lisa and Mike Smith were also present. Chris's grandmother in Texas will be arriving soon to meet her new grandson. Cousins Jerry, Fern, and Lindsay can't wait to meet baby Chris too! The proud parents would like to thank all of their extended family for the warm wishes and gifts.

1. Students must be
inside the classroom with all necessary material such as: books, notebooks, electronic device (charged), and pens,
when the bell rings. Stand up, be quiet, and pay attention when the teacher
enters the classroom.
2. Being late four times or more in the bimonthly period will mean you
loose your right to the exam.
3. Students will not be allowed to use their
lockers after the teacher has entered the classroom. Failure to comply, will immediately mean you are late. And will
eventually affect your right for the bimonthly exam.
4. Students must speak only in English during the class. Every time you speak in Spanish your
bimonthly grade (participation) will be affected.
5.
Lack of respect will
not be tolerated towards the teacher or amongst students.
6.
Students must keep desks and surroundings clean at all times.
7.
Exams and handouts must be pasted to their notebooks. Exams must
be signed by parent or guardian.
8. Cheating or suspicion
of cheating will mean a zero in whatever is being evaluated.
9.
Unless teacher indicates the contrary, the use of any electronic device is strictly forbidden. Taking video or
photographs of classmates or teachers (without their permission) will be
considered a lack of respect.
10. Eating in class is
forbidden.
11. Chewing gum is also
forbidden.
12. When the bell rings,
no one can rise from his/her desk until the teacher dismisses the class.
13. During the school
year this rules might be modified or supplemented, if necessary.
14. No more than two
students per class will be allowed to go to the toilet. If the period is right
after recess (30 min) no permission will be granted. (Special cases will be
considered)

ABC "How to get a 10" (Evaluation criteria)
Exam (40%)
There
is one each bimonthly period. It includes vocabulary, grammar, reading and use of English
exercises reviewed during the bimonthly period. “Complete First for Schools” is the main core.
Quizzes
(20%)
Three
or four to evaluate every unit separately. Teacher will use it as formative
assessment.
Project
(15%)
In
teams teacher evaluates creativity, collaboration, communication, critical
thinking, connectivity, and culture (6 C´s – 21st Century Skills)
How to obtain a 10?
By:
Following
instructions
· Observing specifications.
· Taking seriously the
editing process (images, font, and layout).
· Showing a good command of
English (Spelling, Grammar; applying different present and past forms and a
wide range of vocabulary– not repeating the same word all the time!!!
· Creativity: using your
imagination to make your project unique. Going beyond!
· Content: fulfilling the
goals, including what is asked.
Participation
and classwork (10%)
How to obtain a 10?
By:
Participating
voluntarily, raising your hand every time you want to make a comment.
Making
relevant comments to enrich the lesson.
Listening
respectfully to peers and teacher when they speak.

correctly to the questions. If not, at least, trying.
Being
ready, with all the material for the class, before the teacher comes in (Book,
notebook, pencil case, tablet, and whatever material is needed; every time you do not have your books, notebook, or tablet ready to be used, one point will be taken from your grade). If you need to go to the locker half a point will be taken from your grade.
Working
in whatever is asked by the teacher e.g. taking notes, working in teams,
etc.
Speaking
